2014 -2015 Site Works

Improvement works have been completed at Postwick Marshes (Compartment 17), whilst elsewhere in the Yare Valley we have undertaken crest raising and bank repair works at Buckenham Marshes (Compartment 15) and Cantley Marshes (Compartment 14). Further work to maintain the standard of defence at Cantley & Strumpshaw (Compartment 16) is programmed for 2015.

In the Waveney Valley, there has been a significant amount of crest raising between Beccles and Burgh St. Peter, together with the construction of a new bank at Carleton Marshes (Compartment 28).

Piling removal is likely to be undertaken along the River Thurne, at Coldharbour Farm (Compartment 5) and the River Burem upstream of Acle (Compartment 9) over the Winter period.

All of the major improvement works have now been completed but there will be an ongoing need to raise any lengths of bank that settle excessively over the remaining years of the project.
