Compartment 14 Planning Application

The planning application for the works was submitted to the Broads Authority (via Broadland District Council) on 14th November 2006. This is for flood defence works at Cantley Marshes adjacent to the left bank of the River Yare.

The proposed works are shown in the table below:

The flood defences along Compartment 14 protect the Cantley Marshes which, for the most part, are managed for conservation by the owners, The Royal Society of the Protection of Birds (RSPB). The marshes are part of the Cantley Marshes SSSI and are highly prized for their flora and fauna value. As part of the improvement works the new soke dyke will also act as the main drain for the site improving both water management and water quality across the site.
